Special Event & Exhibition | Manfred Bockelmann: Drawing against Oblivion
Special Event | Screening & Panel Discussions: October 26, 2016 | 2:30 pm & 7:00 pm
Exhibition | September 6 – November 13, 2016

For the first time in the US, Stockton University shows Drawing against Oblivion, an exhibition by Austrian artist Manfred Bockelmann that has received international attention. The exhibition shows large-scale charcoal portraits of children and youths who have been murdered by the Nazi's terror regime. With these portraits, Bockelmann aims to "give faces to at least a few names and numbers, lifting a few individuals out of the anonymity of the statistics".

On October 26, Stockton University presents a special event including panel discussions and a film screening of the awarded documentary Drawing against Oblivion. The film presents Manfred Bockelmann's process of creating the charcoal portraits of the exhibition by the same name.
