ABOUT CANNED FIT
Currently, Canned Fit works as a sound- and media artist, video maker and musician in Vienna as well as internationally. She studied painting and video installation at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Her works include sound installations in public spaces as well as video art, musical compositions and silent/noise performances. Canned Fit is especially interested in close listening, the intersections of audio and visual arts and the dynamics of relations and systems on the individual, sociopolitical and technological level. Besides releasing four albums and various compilations she is member of the bands Laster Kanaster, Palovnia and Ratatoeskr.
Using techniques such as circuit-bending, motorized cans, sounding stovepipes, machines, metal, glass, pottery shards, stone, electronic constructions and minimalistic instrumental melodies are as much part of her peculiar sound aesthetics as drones, feedback, field recordings, intricate beats and, of course, her special voice.
