Bertha von Suttner born on the 9. June 1843. She was born in Praque, the former Bohemia, Austria and became in 1905 the second female Nobel laureate (after Marie Curie in 1903). This very day, 119 years ago Johann Strauß II died. He composed over 500 walzers, polkas, quadrilles and other types of dance music, as several operettas and a ballet. In his lifetime, he was known as “The Walzer King”, and was largely then responsible for the population of the waltz in Vienna during the 19th century. He was born in Vienna and died at the age of 73 in Vienna. He is one of the most famous personalities of Austria. #austria #artist #walzer #classicalmusic
