Concert | Sounds of Exile: Sigrid Hagn. Julia Ammerer-Simma.
March 29, 2016 | 7:30 pm

The Austrian Cultural Forum is proud to present the musical styling of Sigrid Hagn (piano) and Julia Ammerer-Simma (cello). Their performance titled "SOUNDS OF EXILE" is dedicated to Austrian composers of the 20th century who emigrated to the US, and intend to unite and honor their highly appreciated composers Vally and Karl Weigl, Eric Zeisl, Alexander Zemlinsky, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Arnold Schönberg, Oscar Nathan Straus and Fritz Kreisler. These composers did not fall silent due to the horrific struggles of their time but gave their outstanding music as a present to the world.

Being aware of the very sensitve but effecting and sustainable expression of these composers, it has become a heart´s desire of both musicians to perform these marvelous compositions whenever it is possible to commemorate these composers. Hagn graduated Mag. Artium in piano and composition at the Vienna Academy of Music and Performing Arts. Important highlights in her career include the highly acclaimed concert at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, at the invitation of the Austrian Embassy,  and the creation of the mozARTE Quintet Salzburg. Cellist Julia Ammerer-Simma plays with Salzburger Kammerphilharmonie, Girardi Trio, and Mozarte Trio.
