PostClassical Ensemble kicks off the new season with TALES FROM THE VIENNA WOODS at Dumbarton Church.

Join PCE, pianist Benjamin Pasternack, and soprano Jennifer Casey Cabot for an evening of Johann Strauss’s most beloved waltzes in a variety of scintillating transformations – including chamber-orchestra transcriptions, Adolf Schulz-Evler’s spectacular solo piano paraphrase of The Blue Danube, and operetta selections by Strauss and Lehar.

Johann Strauss’s most beloved waltzes in a variety of scintillating transformations—including a chamber-orchestra version of Emperor Waltz as lovingly transcribed by Arnold Schoenberg, and Adolf Schulz-Evler’s spectacular solo piano paraphrase of The Blue Danube performed by Benjamin Pasternack. Also in the program: Soprano Jennifer Casey Cabot sings “Vilja” from Franz Lehár’s The Merry Widow and other operetta favorites.
