Barbara Holub lecture: "Direct Urbanism" & Bromo District residency

The Bromo Tower Arts & Entertainment District introduces artist and artistic researcher Barbara Holub (Vienna, Austria), who will be in residency in the Bromo District in Summer 2014 as part of the “TRANSIT: Creative Placemaking with Europe in Baltimore” initiative in partnership with the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts, the European Union National Institutes for Culture and the Austrian Cultural Forum. During a four-week residency, Holub and students in Social Design from the University of Applied Arts in Vienna will produce the “The First World Congress of the Missing Things,” to take place on June 7 & 8, 2014. This process- and collaboration-oriented public art project will foster a dialogue on social and urban issues and encourage collective action.

Holub, co-founder of the transdisciplinary pratice transparadiso, will present projects in the method of “direct urbanism” and introduce “The First World Congress of the Missing Things.”
