We finally added up all votes and are excited to announce the amazing winner of our #HelloIam contest: It is STEFAN TIEFENGRABER of the University of Art and Design Linz!

After our seven months-long journey, where we presented six very talented #YoungArtists from Austria’s three leading art universities, we would like to give our special thanks to our partners the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, the University of Applied Arts Vienna and the University of Art and Design Linz, as well as our six outstanding #YoungArtists for sharing their phenomenal work with us and making this project possible in the first place.

As the winner of our project #HelloIam STEFAN TIEFENGRABER gets to present his work in Washington, DC, stay tuned for updates on next year’s exhibition!

Stefan Tiefengraber was born in Baden near Vienna, Austria in 1981; he lives and works in Linz. After having worked at a film production company for several years, he studied "Time-based and Interactive Media" from 2010 to 2015 and "Interface Culture" since 2016, at the University of Art and Design Linz.

His work ranges from kinetic sound and interactive installations to audio/video performances with time-based media elements. Stefan experiments with the modification of devices, which are originally manufactured for different purposes. Combined with the perception of the audience, this experimental attempt of exploring old and new materials leads him to new and unpredictable results.

His work was shown at Ars Electronica Festival 2017 (Linz/AT), Galerie Gerken (Berlin/GER), TodaysArt 2014 (Den Haag/NL), New Media Gallery (Vancouver/CAN), 16th Media Art Biennale WRO 2015 (Wroclaw/POL), Piksel Festival 2016 (Bergen/NOR) and many more.
