Dive into the jazz universe of Alpha Trianguli and join us for a concert of four young Austrian musicians presenting their debut album Entering Zero Gravity. Alpha Trianguli takes their audience away from the turbulence of everyday life for a few moments and into a space of weightlessness, calm and focused attention.
Inspired by the beauty and vastness of the universe, the band Alpha Trianguli begins their journey into the infinity of sound worlds. Driven by the curiosity of the four musicians to let themselves fall and be carried away, the band sometimes sounds earthy and energetic, and at some other moments calm and weightless.
The interaction of the Vienna-based quartet gives the impression that the musicians themselves form a micro-cosmos: the rhythms of the drums circulate around the gravitational field of the double bass, which ensures pulse and periodicity. The magical, expansive sound of the vibraphone fills the spaces created and sparkles like the sublime firmament. From there, the earthly and warm sound of the trombone resounds like a voice into space.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Alois Eberl (1986) has studied trombone since the age of 14 and then accordion at the Tyrolean State Conservatory, the Anton Bruckner Private University and at Mozarteum University in Salzburg. He has toured several continents and worked with renowned artists, such as Ray Anderson, James Morrison, Bob Mintzer, Michel Camilo, and many more.
Florian Klinger (1991) studied classical percussion at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and jazz vibraphone at William Paterson University in New Jersey. He has been a percussionist in the orchestra of the Vienna Volksoper since 2011 and works in ensembles of various musical genres at home and abroad.
Beate Wiesinger (1986) studied bass at the University of Performing Arts Vienna, the AntonBruckner Private University and Högskolan für Scen och Musik Göteborg. She has performed at jazz festivals in Berlin, Vienna, Saalfelden, and at the Jazztopad Festival, Bohemia Jazzfestival, Jazzweekend Regensburg, Popfest Vienna and the Salzburg Festival among many others.
Jakob Kammerer (1992) studied drums and composition at the University of Music and Art in Vienna and at the University of Music and Dance in Cologne. He has been awarded the Burghauser Young Jazz Prize for his ensemble Kammerer Orköster and toured Europe as band leader and side man.
