EuroAsia Shorts | Film Festival | June 10-14, 2024

EuroAsia Shorts (EAS) returns with a packed week of five in-person screenings, discussions, and reception events featuring international short films at Washington, D.C. embassies and cultural centers, available free to the public, June 10 – 14! Join an international cinematic dialogue that is uniquely Washingtonian as we celebrate 18 years of EAS in 2024. This year, EAS events take place throughout a single week, with five screening events Monday-Friday. The first four evenings are dedicated to Partner Nights blending short films from two or three countries designed as a conversation on this year's central theme, Dignity. They will be followed by the traditional Closing Night on Friday June 14. Several events include post-film discussions and complimentary receptions.

We are looking forward to our Partner Night with the Japanese Information and Culture Center (JICC) on June 13, 2024, and are proud to be the host for this year’s Closing Night.

You will find detailed information about the festival and films here.

ABOUT DIGNITY

In our modern world, the word dignity denotes respect, self-respect, and status. The desire to preserve dignity and the dignity of others is universal. Sometimes we choose to sacrifice it, other times human dignity is threatened or violated by others – how far are we willing to go to preserve it? Explore with us the great variety of international shorts and the directors’ varying approaches to this subject matter.
